DemExit - Democrats Depart the Party at Convention

This past week the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia exhibited far more protests inside the hall, and far more empty seats than was ever experienced at the RNC convention in Cleveland. The protest went so far as to leave hundreds of empty seats at the convention, while demonstrators remained in their seats protesting until they were silenced by white noise machines, blackouts in the stadium, or otherwise "escorted" or kicked out of the building. Certain demonstrators had their convention credentials seized, even though they were Democratic Party Officials and Delegates. It was an astonishing walkout, show of distain against Hillary Clinton by the Bernie supporters, however was not covered by the press. Around these events, Bernie supporters rejected the Democratic party, changing party registrations to Independent and Green party, and pledging to vote for Dr. Jill Stein or Donald Trump. The Black Lives Matter movement also protested against Hillary, and may simply not turn out to vote. As a result of lacking coverage in the press, many former Bernie supporters are now increasingly outspoken, taking to "Citizen Journalism" through blogs and social media.

What do these activities say about First Amendment protections in the Democratic Party? There was nothing like this at the Republican convention with Ted Cruz supporters.
